PMVA Training

Join our two-day Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) training course, designed for registered nurses, community carers, support workers, and healthcare assistants in the healthcare sector.

Through interactive sessions and hands-on exercises, participants will explore mental health topics and learn effective strategies for managing challenging behaviours. With a focus on personal safety and preventing the need for physical interventions, attendees will gain essential skills to reduce risks and improve client safety.

This PMVA course equips you with the tools to confidently handle difficult situations and promote person-centred care in health and social care settings.

PMVA training overview

By the end of this course, you will have the skills and confidence to support people who display behaviours that challenge.

Over 2 days, you will engage in practical sessions covering low and high-impact restraint methods. Learn non-pain-compliant techniques and how to respond appropriately to diverse scenarios. We emphasise teamwork during interventions to ensure safety for everyone involved.

Additionally, you will acquire essential breakaway techniques and discover the importance of clear, comprehensive debriefing and report writing after incidents. This training equips you with the skills needed to maintain a safe environment and support the well-being of clients and care teams.

Our training aligns with the latest best practice guidelines for the management of violence and aggression, considering NICE Clinical Guidelines and Department of Health Positive and Proactive Care.
