Learn why live-in carers love working with Superior Healthcare.
As a Live-in Carer, you’ll move into clients’ homes and live with them. Your responsibilities may include providing clinical support for the client or assisting with their health and social care needs. This could range from providing personal care, and medication management, to completing or teaching clients how to do household tasks.
We provide comprehensive support to ensure both you and the client are set up for success. This includes additional paid training to boost your confidence in delivering high-quality person-centred care.
Individuals with previous experience working in a care home or domiciliary care usually thrive in providing live-in care, because they enjoy building a working relationship with clients and value having the time to provide a high level of care when working one-to-one Throughout your time as a Live-in Carer our nurse managers and field care supervisors will ensure you have the knowledge and skills to provide safe, effective care.
Medication administration is a key part of supporting clients.
Our in-house clinical educators offer comprehensive medication training to refresh your knowledge in safe medication handling, covering proper treatment, prescription, dispensing, and administration.
As a Live-in Carer, you may be required to provide personal care, which can include assisting clients with toileting, bathing, and dressing.
You might also support clients with specific needs, such as colostomy, urostomy, and ileostomy care.
Many of our clients require mobility support. All of our care team members receive comprehensive induction training to refresh their skills in moving and positioning people.
As a Live-in Carer, you’ll support your clients with mobility, helping them move safely and comfortably whenever they need.
Ensuring clients feel supported and happy is essential. Spending quality time together, whether it’s enjoying a cup of tea or watching TV, can help combat isolation if the client desires it. You’ll also assist your client in accessing the wider community and commitments such as college.
Our carers handle various household tasks, allowing clients to focus on enjoying their favourite activities. For clients transitioning into adulthood or recovering from a brain injury, you may also assist them in learning how to do household chores, to promote independence.
Our live-in carers also support their clients with cooking.
This might include providing breakfast, lunch or dinner, or supporting our clients who are transitioning into adulthood to learn the skills for independent living.
Live-in care is perfect for individuals who value several days off in a row. Whether it’s working two weeks on, two weeks off, or one week on, one week off, live-in care offers a flexible schedule to accommodate various preferences. If you possess ambition, skills, and commitment, we can provide the support and opportunities you need to reach your care career goals. Our benefits include:
Superior Healthcare was founded in 2006 by Stewart Thorp, his father Charles, and Sarah Richards after Stewart’s brother, Alex, sustained a traumatic brain injury and required 24-hour care.
When trying to organise at-home care for Alex, Stewart saw the need for a specialist provider that could fit into family life and continue Alex’s rehabilitation.
Superior Healthcare was formed to address this need. Since then, we have been providing support to individuals living with complex care needs.
