Live-in Carer

Recruiting live-in carers

Live-in carers provide round-the-clock support for individuals who choose to live in their own homes.

At Superior Healthcare, this involves assisting adults, young people, or children who need ongoing clinical or social care to live safely and happily at home.

Many healthcare assistants and support workers who transition from care settings or domiciliary roles to live-in care find they love their new roles. Our live-in care roles offer the opportunity to build meaningful working relationships with clients.

What does a Live-in Carer do?

Individuals with previous experience working in a care home or domiciliary care usually thrive in providing live-in care, because they enjoy building a working relationship with clients and value having the time to provide a high level of care when working one-to-one Throughout your time as a Live-in Carer our nurse managers and field care supervisors will ensure you have the knowledge and skills to provide safe, effective care.

Extensive training

As a new member of our complex care team, you’ll receive excellent training from our clinical educators, both in-person and online – and we’ll pay for those hours, too. Your initial training is a five-day induction, offering you a chance to enhance and refresh your skills and meet other live-in carers, support workers, healthcare assistants and registered nurses.

If a client’s needs require additional skills, such as tracheostomy care, airway management, or enteral feeding, we offer paid specialist training. This means you can confidently support your clients and enhance your skills, which in turn opens up more placement opportunities.

You’ll be supported after completing your training with thorough induction shifts, shadow shifts, and ongoing supervision provided by our in-house team of nurses and supervisors.

Plus, we’ll offer you the chance to enrol in Level 2 to 5 Diplomas in Health and Social Care – helping you continue to unlock new opportunities, like progressing to a Field Care Supervisor role.

For us, it's personal

Superior Healthcare was founded in 2006 by Stewart Thorp, his father Charles, and Sarah Richards after Stewart’s brother, Alex, sustained a traumatic brain injury and required 24-hour care.

When trying to organise at-home care for Alex, Stewart saw the need for a specialist provider that could fit into family life and continue Alex’s rehabilitation.

Superior Healthcare was formed to address this need. Since then, we have been providing support to individuals living with complex care needs.
